I started Coaching Leadership Lab to help coaches build environments where they and their athletes can truly flourish.

My interest in leadership grows out of my 15 years as an NCAA Division I coach at Harvard, where I developed a little-noticed ski team into a program that produced outstanding student-athletes, including an NCAA national champion. I have been honored for excellence in coaching and mentoring.

Like many leaders, I had fewer resources than I would have wanted. My program faced unique constraints as a cross-country ski team based in a city and an athletic team at Harvard, one of the most high-pressure academic institutions in the world.

Amid these challenges, I built engaged, resilient, and high-performing teams where student-athletes grew as people, learned to be effective teammates and leaders, and contributed to their community - while also excelling at their sport. I’m proud that many of my team’s alumni have become accomplished leaders in their own right.
